Believing that the present is contingent upon the past, that Second Missionary Baptist Church has played an important historical role in African-American history, and seeing ones religious heritage is a viable way to show that the past is a reality in today's society.

Welcome!

The purpose of the Archives Ministry of Second Missionary Baptist Church is to identify, collect, preserve, organize and share historical materials and certain records of SMBC. Items to be collected, include but are not limited to, programs, documents, photos, sermons, newspaper articles, slides, oral history tapes and videos and copies of all historical materials having a significant meaning to SMBC and its members.
