Usher Ministry

"I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness." Psalms 84:10

Welcome!

Ushering is the art of making the members and visitors feel comfortable and of lending spiritual dignity to the whole church service. In other words, ushers make sure the words of the Apostle Paul in 1 Cor. 14:40 are carried out; "Let all things be done decently and in order." That is our job, and that is what all ushers should be dedicated to do.

Gladys Leemore

"An SMBC usher proudly serves as an officer as well as a doorkeeper to the church. Ushering is the art of making the members and visitors feel comfortable and lending spiritual dignity to the whole church service. The usher also escorts worshippers to available seating, orients guests to the facility and receives the tithes and offerings. Our ministry is guided by Psalms 84:10 which says, I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than to dwell in the tents of wickedness."
