Missionary Union Ministry

Missionary Union Ministry

The Missionary Union Ministry of SMBC was organized in 1942, under the leadership of Pastor W. W. Taylor. The Missionary Union participates in community service projects, youth outreach and recognition, and foreign missions. Membership is open to anyone interested in serving.

SMBC was presented a certificate in recognition of 83+ years for the loyal support of The Worker quarterly magazine. Through the years, we were blessed to have teachers who dedicated their time in bringing the Word of God and using The Worker, such as the late Sis. Evelyn Hardin who recited by memory the Christian Pledge daily. Evangelist Marva Lee was our teacher after Sis. Hardin. Our current teacher is Rev. Grant Harris.

Our Study Guide

During our meeting, we have a devotional and bible lesson from our study guide. For over 80 years, the Missionary Union has studied from THE WORKER magazine; however, the magazine had a name changed and went to a digital format in October, 2022. Our new study guide is called THE MISSION and every member receives a copy quarterly.
